Servants of the Word feel a strong sense of the Lord leading us to our new home in Tubakuta. We therefore want to play a full and active role in the community, so that they may realise the benefit of the gospel in their midst.
It is still early days, but the plans we have discussed with the community leaders include teaching English in the village schools, helping children in the exam classes of Grades 9 and 12, and an adult literacy programme.
Furthermore, we are offering training places in the internationally recognised “Farming God’s Way” methodology, equipping villagers to grow enough food to feed their families. Once our own farm is established we also hope to provide fresh vegetables for the children in the local schools.
